Riding Along On The Crest Of A Wave*

Crested Pigeon, originally uploaded by http://andrewskelton.net.

I have my work cut out for me today, I have the challenge of writing ten blogs to cover the days I’m away starting from tomorrow when we set out for our last Olympic event, Football at the Millenium Stadium where Japan are playing South Korea in a bid to win the Bronze medal. Our vantage point in the Welsh stadium won’t be as good as good as those in the previous two events we’ve attended though this has nothing to do with the stadium, it’s just a reflection of how popular the tickets were and what we could get. It doesn’t bother me, I’ve never been to the stadium but I’ve seen countless Rugby Matches on TV played there so it will be good to eventually attend an event at this impressive venue… plus it is for a Bronze Medal so a lot is at stake so i’m sure it will be a great game.

Amazing, the planets must be aligned, there must be something in the water, either that or the global satellites are beaming messages into my brain as having decided I needed to pack something ready for our holiday I went and put together all the clothes I need ready for our time away. I hope you were sitting down, when you read that Dear Reader as I’m sure the shock might have been too much for you… let me say it once again, without giving it much though I left the desk in my office downstairs and went and packed the clothes I need for our vacation rather than sorting out the much more important issue of what camera gear I’m going to take with me! I said it was quite shocking… of course that’s only because, mentally (yes i know what you’re thinking Dear Reader, and that’s very unkind!) I’ve already itemised what is going with us, so packing shouldn’t take long, especially as for once all my camera gear is in my camera cupboard!

*It’s a Crested Pigeon.

  1. As you are driving down to the Principality, I shall be driving to Herefordshire for as long as I can make it!
One word of warning, on a normal Friday the M4 West from about Bristol starts getting jammed at around 3.30 – 4.00pm. On a match day it’s anybody’s guess, but just know you are going to be late!!!
Leave as early as you can my friend and enjoy your time with us in the Valleys – I know it’s not really in the Valleys but a bit of Poetic license. And you know all about that!! :-0)

    • Thanks for the advice, Mark, it seems we’re destined to be ships that pass in the night at this rate.
